Loanna Morrison the Conservative prospective parliamentary candidate for Bermondsey & Old Southwark, has reacted with anger to Labour proposals for a £1,000 a year Communications Allowance for local councillors.
“We already have an MP who spent nearly £10,000 of taxpayers’ money last year on putting his own propaganda through people’s letterboxes whilst claiming to be whiter than white, and now they want to extend the allowance to councillors.”
“If elected I would not claim the communications allowance and I would campaign against any similar funds for councillors. Labour and Liberal politicians clearly have yet to understand how annoyed I and other taxpayers are about the abuse of expenses and allowances.”
